Social Media Marketing Intern Job Description

FitLit is a nonprofit based in South Florida which blends fitness and literature to offer a unique growing experience to youth. FitLit instills a growth mindset in all fitlitters, equipping them to succeed in fitness, literature, and life.

Job Overview:

FitLit is seeking a part-time Social Media Marketing Intern to create dynamic content in order to sustain and build on our following in social media sites such as: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and aid updating the social content for the FitLit Website. There will be a major focus on the development, implementation and monitoring of social media campaigns across a number of platforms and will write and gather content for electronic publications, social media, and blogs. The Social Media Marketing Intern will work alongside other interns, the company Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Operating Officer to promote the goals, messages, image and awareness of the FitLit mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These include but are not limited to the following:

Social Media Content Creation:

  • Draft content for external communications, blogs and social networking platforms.
  • Use creative means to plan, organize, and implement a range of social media programs and/or events.
  • Contribute to and regularly update external social sites: such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and other community sites.
  • Develop content calendar for these sites.

Social Media Management:

  • Respond and alert the CEO and COO to inquiries and comments on established channels in real time as necessary.
  • Monitor all social media outlets: pages, sites, blogs on a daily basis and post/respond on particular topics or in response to other post/comments.
  • Convey a sense of community and build our following based on valuation content and mutual sharing of content and vision.

Training and Development:

  • Ability to cross-train other employees on electronic and social marketing related functions.
  • Must be comfortable presenting technical information to other interns and the management team.

Requirements:

  • Creative self starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Micorsoft Office, Apple OS, basic photo-editing and video editing. Experience with Photoshop and Wix is a plus.
  • Understanding of mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc.
  • Experience with the use of Google Drive and the Google Apps Suite.
  • Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
  • Bring and use your own computer to complete internship projects and tasks.

While this is an unpaid internship, FitLit can provide community service hours as well as credit hours for college students who wish to get credit via their college/university.

Web Developer Intern Job Description

FitLit is seeking a part-time Web Developer Intern to work on a variety of digital projects. There will be a major focus on conceptualizing and managing the FitLit website including overall maintenance and additions. The Web Developer Intern will work alongside other interns, the company Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Operating Officer to promote the goals, messages, image and awareness of the FitLit mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These include but are not limited to the following:

Web Content Creation:

  • Design content from external communications, blogs and social networking platforms to be added into the FitLit Website
  • Create a web page that is user friendly with an easy to manage user interface for both standard and mobile view of the site.
  • Develop newsletters for community partners, FitLit Parents, and FitLitters.

Web Content Management:

  • Respond and alert the CEO and COO to inquiries and comments made on the website.
  • Publish approved content on the FitLit Website.
  • Work closely alongside other interns to aide in the development and proper posting of social media campaigns on the FitLit website.

Training and Development:
